“Passionate Purpose”
by Dr. Larry Morris
Have we ever felt on fire with some all-consuming purpose? Have we felt that passionate energy that espouses a cause that will not quit until it achieves its realization? Sometimes we become too lukewarm in our living. We can lose ourselves to inertia or the mechanical routine of our daily life. Then, one day, we find ourselves uniting with a purpose that awakens a passionate intensity deep within us that longs for expression and fulfillment in this life.
We are here not just to beat the humdrum of our days, but to lift earth to the heavens. What great work can we give our whole heart to that will demand everything from us and give everything to us? I think there are magic moments in our life, doors to the infinite in which we feel suddenly and inexplicably freed from all the bonds of our life; we feel loosed from all obstacles; we suddenly see and feel our life as an open highway of limitless possibilities — anything can happen and the very best thing is already happening. As Rumi says, "We are departing for the skies, who has a mind for sightseeing?"
