“Commitment”

by Dr. Larry Morris

There has been a time in each of our lives when we have made a deep and abiding commitment to ourselves. This commitment may have come as a vow we made in the middle of the night and which we never shared or spoke of to anyone. Yet this commitment was made to ourselves from the depths of our heart and it was fulfilled. Perhaps it was a decision to achieve some longed-for goal—to finally complete it. Or maybe it was a decision to release a habit or end a situation that was no longer meaningful or beneficial. Whatever it was, we can remember our clarity and our determination to what we had decided for ourselves—whether anyone else ever knew of it or not. Perhaps right now we need to make another decision to commit ourselves. Let's decide right now.
